“The Kundalini experience does not mean you have gone into a deep breathless trance and are beyond this world. … It integrates you more fully with reality and gives you a broader vision and sensitivity so that you can act more efficiently.”
~Yogi Bhajan
I frequently speak of how much I appreciate Kundalini technology in my life. While this resonates with my fellow Kundalini teachers, others are likely wondering – what the heck do you mean by that, Haridev?
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is yoga and so much more. Called the “Yoga of Awareness”, Kundalini Yoga is taught in set “kriyas,” which are series of dynamic and static exercises using asanas (postures), pranayama (breath), mudras (gestures), bandhas (body locks), and mantra (chanting). Meditation is also a big part of Kundalini practices.
But beyond what could typically be included in a yoga class, Kundalini is a technology that also includes guidelines and advice on living a happy, healthy (and holy!) life. Kundalini Yoga is a yoga for “householders” or people like us who were not intended to spend half our lives meditating in a cave (though some days that sounds like a great option!). It provides tools to people who have to cope with the daily challenges and stresses of holding jobs, raising families, and managing businesses. It is a path for everyone who wants the skills to cope successfully with the challenges of our times.
It is a dynamic, powerful tool that is designed to give you an experience of your soul. Not small stuff — but it is beautiful and life enriching.
Join me to explore Kundalini technology as taught by Yogi Bhajan through two upcoming four-class series in Washington, DC. The classes will feature clear explanations while creating an environment where experience is the teacher.
Both series start on Sunday, 22 February and run for four successive Sundays through Sunday, 15 March.
